Arsene Wenger provides Alexandre Lacazette injury update ahead of Manchester United clash
Arsene Wenger explained his decision to replace Alexandre Lacazette with Olivier Giroud at half-time in Arsenal‘s 5-0 victory over Huddersfield.
Lacazette was the Gunners’ standout player before the break at the Emirates and broke the deadlock in the 3rd minute, finding the net after a classy through ball from Aaron Ramsey.
Asked about the Frenchman’s substitution, Wenger explained: ‘It is an injury. ‘It looked like a groin injury and is definitely out of the weekend [Manchester United]. He might be out for a while.’
Giroud, Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil were Arsenal’s other scorers in a convincing victory over David Wagner’s men.
Lacazette’s opener on Wednesday evening was his seventh goal for Arsenal this season and his fifth at the Emirates since signing on the dotted line.
No player in the Premier League has scored more home goals than the France forward this term.
